Q&A Feature with Rob from Publishers Weekly

Hi there, I’ve been remiss in sharing this Q&A with writer Dai Newman that originally posted on 12/5/22. I’ve conducted several author interviews with writers for PW before and it was fun to be the interviewee this time!

Here’s an excerpt:

Q: Your style in this book includes rubbings of color in most panels. Can you talk a bit about this choice?

RK: The colors convey emotion and bring in atmosphere. People respond to color. The two dominant colors are blue and red. It adds a political tinge to everything. The rubbings also have a kind of dreamlike feel to them—a memoir is memories, right? And memory can be hazy.
